Security Officer Training “New Officer” Course #116100.8 – Session 8 (Tue, Wed, Thur) (Week 1 – 4/8/25-4/10/25) (Week 2 – 4/15/25-4/17/25)

Course Description/Information

This 24-hour training program is designed to provide the required training mandated by (N.J.S. 45:19A-1 to 45:19A-12). Upon successful completion, a certificate of registration, valid for two years, is issued by the NJ State Police.

1. Must be at least 18 years old at time of application. 
2. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. ( have a Green Card)
3. Must register/complete SORA application with the NJ State Police. (fee required click HERE)
4. Must attend and successfully complete a NJ required training course.
5. Must be electronically fingerprinted by IdentoGo fingerprint services.
6. Upon successful completion of the required training and background clearance by the NJSP, candidates will receive NJ SORA license in the mail.

The training program consists of Homeland Security/Counterterrorism, Communications, Emergency Response/ICS, Theft Prevention, Limits on use of force, Detention of suspects, Ethics/Professional Conduct, First Aid/CPR/AED, and other subjects deemed appropriate by the Superintendent of State Police.

The instructor will be assisting you with the following below on class day 1. Please do not complete NJSP application and fingerprinting registration prior to class. This Must be done in class with the instructor on day 1. 

1. Completion of the Security Officer Application on the NJ State Police (NJSP).
2. Fingerprinting Registration Process.

YOU MUST have a credit or debit card on day 1 to process the NJSP application and fingerprinting registration. 

PLEASE DO NOT COMPLETE NJSP APPLICATION/ PRIOR TO CLASS THIS WILL BE DONE IN CLASS WITH INSTRUCTOR ON DAY 1.
