Caribbean Night:

Join us for a flavorful journey through the Caribbean. This class invites participants to explore the vibrant tastes, spices, and culinary traditions of Caribbean culture. We will showcase all the different regions and highlight authentic dishes such as jerk chicken, roti, plantains, fish stews, rice and peas, and tropical desserts. Participants will learn essential techniques like marinating with bold island spices, using fresh herbs, and preparing traditional sides and sauces. Along the way, we’ll explore the history and cultural significance behind each dish, touching on the diverse influences of African, Indian, Spanish, and Indigenous Caribbean cuisines.

 

For your safety:

  • Wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in and cover your legs
  • Closed-toe shoes are mandatory
  • Long hair should be pulled back. Hats, bandanas, or other head coverings are encouraged.
  • Alert staff if you have any allergies. HCST is a nut-free facility but participants with allergies to shellfish, soy, gluten, dairy, etc. should check with their doctor before starting. If you do have allergies, you are required to bring your Epi-Pen.
