2025-06 June Community Cooking Classes

Ready to roll up your sleeves and cook like a pro?  Learn fundamental skills for a lifetime of great cooking in these hands-on community classes led by a professional chef in a state-of-the-art kitchen.  Suited for any cooking experience level, you will work side-by-side with other students and receive step-by-step instructions to learn culinary secrets and create delicious dishes from scratch. Put on an apron, come hungry, and leave with confidence and recipes to replicate at future home meals.

Mediterranean Night:  Take a culinary journey around the world to the Mediterranean and learn how to prepare a classic Mediterranean meal blending bright and savory flavors and ingredients.

 Italian Night: Experience Italy's culinary magic in a night devoted to pasta perfection. Craft your Homemade Pasta, achieving that ideal al dente texture. Savor the classic Pasta Bolognese and indulge in the earthy Mushroom Fettuccine. Refresh with a crisp Caesar Salad featuring iconic dressing and croutons. Join us for an evening of authentic Italian flavors — it's pasta mastery made simple! Buon Appetito!

Vegan Night: This class will teach more about plant-based ingredients and cooking fundamentals. Students will be taught to work with legumes and different types of delicious food in replacement of meat, poultry, dairy products, such as dairy free ice cream, dairy free cheeses and more.

Brunch Night: Students will learn the core fundamentals of brunch cookery, They will understand and learn how to properly cook eggs, french toast, homemade pancakes, and a variety of different brunch foods.

Mexican Night:  Join us for a vibrant Mexican Night, where bold and zesty flavors take center stage. Dive into the rich, aromatic experience of crafting Mexican favorites like homemade Guacamole, Sofrito, Cilantro Lime Crema, and Carne Asada. Prepare for a culinary journey filled with spice, zest, and the authentic tastes of Mexico.

For your safety:

  • Wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in and cover your legs
  • Closed-toe shoes are mandatory
  • Long hair should be pulled back. Hats, bandanas, or other head coverings are encouraged.
  • Alert staff if you have any allergies. HCST is a nut-free facility but participants with allergies to shellfish, soy, gluten, dairy, etc. should check with their doctor before starting. If you do have allergies, you are required to bring your Epi-Pen.
