Mediterranean Night:
Experience the vibrant flavors and rich traditions of Mediterranean cuisine in our Mediterranean Community Cooking Class! This hands-on workshop invites participants of all skill levels to explore the culinary staples of countries like Greece, Italy, Lebanon, and Turkey. Together, we’ll prepare a delicious menu featuring fresh and wholesome dishes such as hummus and baba ganoush with warm pita, Greek salad, chicken souvlaki, herbed couscous, and a sweet finish of baklava. Guided by our chefs, you’ll learn essential techniques like working with olive oil, herbs, and spices, balancing bold flavors, and preparing classic Mediterranean sauces and spreads. Along the way, we’ll discuss the cultural significance and health benefits of the Mediterranean diet. After cooking, we’ll enjoy the meal together as a community. Our carefully curated menu includes the following items; however, it is subject to change.
- Grilled lamb kabobs
- Grilled chicken kabobs
- Grilled shrimp kabobs
- Tzatziki sauce
- Hummus
- Couscous
- Grilled vegetables
- Fresh pita bread
- Grape leaves
- Greek salad
For your safety:
- Wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in and cover your legs
- Closed-toe shoes are mandatory
- Long hair should be pulled back. Hats, bandanas, or other head coverings are encouraged.
- Alert staff if you have any allergies. HCST is a nut-free facility but participants with allergies to shellfish, soy, gluten, dairy, etc. should check with their doctor before starting. If you do have allergies, you are required to bring your Epi-Pen.
