Explore the many facets of work encompassed by the carpentry profession. Learn the development of plans from site and layout work through the construction of footings, foundations, floors, walls, roofs, ceilings, and finish work. Develop skills with tools and familiarization with the techniques of finish work: installing doors, windows, flooring, drywall, exterior trim, door and window trim, baseboards and moldings, shelves, building stairs, and framing. Develop your problem-solving ability, your “eye” for good work, and the tricks of the trade. Hands-on exercises in each class will include finishing work on demonstration frames built for the course. OSHA Exam Available.
