Electricity Advanced - Level 2 is a 150-hour course. These academic course hours partially meet and can be applied towards the required hours for an Electricity Apprenticeship in New Jersey. Applicants must complete Electricity Basics - Level I before registering for Level II.
Instruction will be provided in residential wiring techniques, including the proper use and installation of NC-Romex cable and plastic electrical boxes mounted on wood framing. Students will learn to wire basic residential circuits, incorporate ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs), and install both single and three-way switches commonly used in home electrical systems. Additionally, the course will offer an introductory overview of the National Electrical Code (NEC), emphasizing its relevance and application to residential wiring practices.
