WELDING STAGE 1 – Spring
This course is designed to give the beginner and novice welding student hours of instruction through lecture, one on one demonstration, practical application, and experience in electric arc welding. An overview of safety, metal preparation, electrode selection, bead placement, and joint welding in the flat, vertical and overhead positions are practiced using various electrodes. Stages provide the opportunity to practice and master the skills introduced in the previous program stage. Each semester is 90 hours, certificates will be awarded after each stage.
Students are required to provide their own welding gloves and welding helmet. Appropriate work shoes must be worn at all times.
