2024-2025-10 October Community Cooking Classes

Ready to roll up your sleeves and cook like a pro?  Learn fundamental skills for a lifetime of great cooking in these hands-on community classes led by a professional chef in a state-of-the-art kitchen.  Suited for any cooking experience level, you will work side-by-side with other students and receive step-by-step instructions to learn culinary secrets and create delicious dishes from scratch. Put on an apron, come hungry, and leave with confidence and recipes to replicate at future home meals.

Mediterranean Night:  Take a culinary journey around the world to the Mediterranean and learn how to prepare a classic Mediterranean meal blending bright and savory flavors and ingredients.

Mozzarella & Pizza Night: Students will learn how to make mozzarella from scratch, bringing the taste of Italy to your kitchen. Students  will also learn how to properly make pizza dough from scratch. Students will learn the art and structure of shaping the dough.

Pasta Night: Everybody loves pasta!  Preparing different types of pasta from scratch will be the focus of this class along with sauces that complement the type of pasta prepared. We will cover linguini, fettuccine, spaghetti, ravioli, and tortellini as well as common sauces using everyday basic ingredients.  

 Soup Night: Students will learn and understand how to make cream soups and hearty bean soups such as shrimp bisque, cream of mushroom, hearty lentil, smoked ham soup to many more!

Brunch Night: Students will learn the core fundamentals of brunch cookery, They will understand and learn how to properly cook eggs, french toast, homemade pancakes, and a variety of different brunch foods.

For your safety:

  • Wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in and cover your legs
  • Closed-toe shoes are mandatory
  • Long hair should be pulled back. Hats, bandanas, or other head coverings are encouraged.
  • Alert staff if you have any allergies. HCST is a nut-free facility but participants with allergies to shellfish, soy, gluten, dairy, etc. should check with their doctor before starting. If you do have allergies, you are required to bring your Epi-Pen.
