This course will cover basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology; assisting providers with physical examinations and minor procedures; patient care coordination and education; working with electronic health records (EHR); scheduling appointments; communication and customer service; knowledge of medical law and ethics; administering medications; collection of blood specimens using venipuncture and dermal puncture techniques; and performing electrocardiograms
Medical assistants help with many of the daily duties of the physician’s office; hence they are vital members of the healthcare team.
*Students must purchase their own sphygmomanometers as these are for personal use only.
*Mandatory Uniform Required - Students must purchase BLACK medical scrubs
