2024-07 July Community Cooking Classes

Ready to roll up your sleeves and cook like a pro?  Learn fundamental skills for a lifetime of great cooking in these hands-on community classes led by a professional chef in a state-of-the-art kitchen.  Suited for any cooking experience level, you will work side-by-side with other students and receive step-by-step instructions to learn culinary secrets and create delicious dishes from scratch. Put on an apron, come hungry, and leave with confidence and recipes to replicate at future home meals.

Steakhouse Night: Bring a fine steakhouse menu to your dining room table! This class will walk you through how to prepare a satisfying steak dinner with all the fixings. Learn how to cook the perfect cut of meat and how to complement it in the tradition of the finest classic steakhouses in America. Includes different cuts of steak, sauces, cream of spinach, garlic mash, caesar salad, and more!

Sushi Night:  Whether you're a complete novice or an amateur home cook looking to refine your culinary skills, "Sushi Sensations" promises a fun and educational journey that will leave you with the ability to create restaurant-quality sushi in the comfort of your kitchen. Join us and discover the joy of making sushi as you connect with fellow food enthusiasts in a vibrant and supportive community setting. Get ready to roll, slice, and savor your way to becoming a sushi aficionado!

 Date Night: Prepare an elegant, romantic 3-course meal  (including an appetizer, entree, and dessert) that you can recreate in your own home to dazzle that special someone! Perfect for couples and individuals looking to step up their meal planning. 

Hand Crafted Pasta Night: Everybody loves pasta!  Preparing different types of pasta from scratch will be the focus of this class along with sauces that complement the type of pasta prepared. We will cover linguini, fettuccine, spaghetti, ravioli, and tortellini as well as common sauces using everyday basic ingredients.  

For your safety:

  • Wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in and cover your legs
  • Closed-toe shoes are mandatory
  • Long hair should be pulled back. Hats, bandanas, or other head coverings are encouraged.
  • Alert staff if you have any allergies. HCST is a nut-free facility but participants with allergies to shellfish, soy, gluten, dairy, etc. should check with their doctor before starting. If you do have allergies, you are required to bring your Epi-Pen.
